Nadine West vs. Stitch Fix: Which clothing service is worth the cost?

During this Coronavirus pandemic, it's been almost impossible to walk into a store to try on new clothes to buy. You can look at them, but you can't try them on. How can I possibly know if something will fit me right or even look good on my body type if I can't even try the clothes on?! Let alone, my favorite store at the time, Kohl's, wasn't even accepting returns! So what was a girl to do who wanted new clothes for when it WAS time to get back out into the world and live again a somewhat normal life? Insert Nadine West and Stitch Fix styling services!

Nadine West

- $9.78 for shipping (this will be credited toward the items you choose to keep for that shipment!)

- Choose to get a shipment every 2 or 4 weeks

- Take a style quiz (so your stylist can get to know you and select items for you based on your quiz)

- Stylist picks items for you (including clothes and jewelry)

- Each item is typically no more than $50-$60 (you may get between 5-12 items or more!)

- Once your shipment is received, TRY ON THE CLOTHES, decide what you like and want to pay to keep

- Send back items you don't want in the same shipping bag w/ prepaid label (at no cost to you!)

- Nadine West will choose your next shipping date based on your 2 or 4 week preference

Some items I've kept:

Cost:

- Kara Top - $30.99

- Bunty Side-Pocket Jeggings Bottom: $26.49

- Maureene Earrings: $14.99

- Tamia Bracelet: $21.19

Stitch Fix

- $20 styling fee (this will be credited toward the items you choose to keep for that shipment!)

- Choose to get a shipment every 2-3 weeks, every month, every other month, or every 3 months

- Take a style quiz (so your stylist can get to know you, learn your sizes, and select items for you based on your quiz - this is more in depth than Nadine West's quiz)

- Style picks FIVE items for you (which can include clothes, jewelry, shoes, accessories, based on your quiz)

- Each item is typically between $25-$500, but you can choose your price range in your quiz

- Once your shipment is received, TRY ON THE CLOTHES, decide what you like and want to pay to keep

- If you keep ALL FIVE items your stylist chose for you, you get a 25% discount off your total order!

- Before sending back items you don't want, you can choose to exchange them typically for another color or size (if available)

- Included in your shipment is a bag w/ a prepaid shipping label for you to ship the items you don't want back (at no cost to you!)

- Stitch fix allows you to choose the specific day for your next shipment which can arrive a few days before or after that date

- Style Pass: Stitch fix offers members at some point a style pass for $50 that replaces the monthly $20 fee for 1 year. That $50 is then credited to the account and can be used towards a purchase! You pay nothing for each shipment until you choose items you want to keep.

- Stitch Fix also allows you to Shop your looks (single items chosen by your stylist in your very own shop), categories (after some time of being a member), and purchase items again (in different colors and sizes)

Some items I've kept:

Cost:

- Papermoon: Basima Back Detail Knit Top = $30

- Studio Blue: Aranza Distressed Skinny Jean = $58

- Bancroft: Kendra Leaf Cuff = $28

- Toms: Classic Alpargata Heritage Solid Canvas Flat = $49.95

My Choice: Stitch Fix

I tried both of these services for at least a few months at the same time so that I could compare their services, quality of clothes, and ability to nail my style of clothes. In the end, it is Stitch Fix that really impressed me, although I still am subscribed to both services, I plan to cancel my Nadine West subscription in the near future, especially if my next bag doesn't impress me which comes this weekend. What I liked about Stitch Fix over Nadine West was mainly the quality of clothes, the variety of clothing selections, the ability to buy clothes in between fixes, the Style Pass opportunity to save money, the fact that I can pick the exact day of my shipment, AND if my stylist really nails it with all 5 items of clothing, I can get 25% off, which sometimes means getting an item completely FREE!

What should you choose? If you're like me and want to spice up your wardrobe while having fun basically getting a monthly "gift" of clothing, use one of my referral codes below to get money towards your first bag/box!

You get $25, I get $25!*

*occasionally I will share a link for $50 and $100 when it's provided to me!

In the future, I plan to do some posts, including reviews and pictures of my style bags/boxes, so you can get a true feeling of what someone might get from the service!
