Hey crafty friends,

Today I’m sharing a card that feels like a little page from a storybook. This one's all about Herbalum Bob, a gentle garden pixie with a love for herbs and quiet moments in nature. As the morning sun filters through the trees, Bob is already at work—watering his thyme and sage, lost in the peaceful rhythm of garden life. From the edge of the path, a curious bunny watches, nose twitching, drawn in by the soothing sounds of water and rustling leaves.

It’s not quite Easter, but there’s something about spring that invites quiet magic—and this card captures just a glimpse of it.

The Making of the Garden Scene:

I started by blending green and yellow pigment inks through a pods stencil using stencil brushes, layering the color to build a soft, sunlit background. Along the bottom, I stamped grass, thyme, and sage in green pigment inks to ground the scene with natural texture and create the feeling of an herb garden in bloom.

Next, I added delicate splatters of gold and green mica mist sprays with a paintbrush for a touch of sparkle, like dewdrops glinting in the morning light. Then I used second-generation stamping to softly layer in a block of text, adding a quiet, vintage-inspired storytelling vibe to the background.

Once the background of the entire panel was finished, I trimmed it down slightly for a clean, framed look. Then, using a stencil brush, I gently blended green pigment ink around the borders of the cut panel—just enough to pull everything together and draw the eye inward.

Bob, Bunny, and the Sentiment:

Herbalum Bob and his bunny companion were stamped in bold black pigment ink to anchor the scene with crisp silhouettes. The sentiment, “Art is a story waiting to be told,” was originally one stamp—but I cut it in half so I could stack the lines and better fit the composition. (If you're not a stamp cutter, masking would work just as well!)

The entire panel is mounted onto a clean white A2 card base to keep the focus on the artwork and give it a finished, gallery-style look.

Final Thoughts:

This card is perfect for spring, encouragement, or simply celebrating the magic in everyday moments. Whether you’re telling a story with ink, with texture, or with the simple presence of a watering can and a curious bunny, remember—art is a story waiting to be told.
